ezinsured helps you get car insurance quotes from several insurers and brokers by filling in their quote requests for you. This page explains what we collect, why, who receives it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

What you tell us in the chat or show us in a document you upload: your name, date of birth, licence and insurance history, address, vehicle, how you use it, driving record answers, the coverage you want, and your contact details. We keep where each answer came from so it is never changed or guessed when it is sent to an insurer.

Who receives it, and when

Nothing is sent to any insurer or broker until you see the list of recipients and agree. With your agreement, we submit your details to those insurers and brokers to request quotes, and accept their quote-request terms on your behalf. We keep a record of what was accepted and when.

Insurers receive a private ezinsured email address and, where available, a private phone line instead of your own. Messages they send arrive in your ezinsured chat. When you choose a quote, we share your real email and phone with that one insurer so the quote and your account are in your name.

Credit checks

Some insurers use a soft credit check to price your quote. We only allow it when you tick that option. A soft check does not affect your credit score.

How we protect it

Your answers and the messages insurers send are encrypted at rest. Screenshots taken while filling in insurer forms are kept for at most 14 days to diagnose problems. Access is limited to people who operate the service.

Your choices

You can fix any answer at any time from the Your details panel, and quotes that used it are redone. You can delete your chat and everything you entered from the chat menu. To ask a question about your information, write to privacy@ezinsured.ca.

Payment

ezinsured never collects card or bank details. You pay the insurer you choose, on their own site.
